Is your sexual orientation defined basing on how you like the genitalia of different genders? Being a gay In principle, being a gay, doesn't affect your life any other way than what you feel about the same sex people in the sense of sexuality. But it does in several ways. When I was a child back in the 80's, gay people had rough times. They were considered weird or even lunatic, they were being laughed at and ostracised. In many countries same-sex sexual activity was criminalized. Nowadays situation is way better and improving all the time. But I can, or maybe I can't, imagine how hard it has been to be a gay teenager before the era of the internet, there has been very little information available about homosexuality. It has been excruciating to be in the belief that is abnormal and almost forced to change sexual orientation and being a loser if wasn't able to do that. Or feeling need to pretend to be straight.
